Not knowing is like running full speed down a hallway in the dark. Eventually you're going to run into something & probably be sore the following day.
That's why in Mobi that we ensure when you build your menu, you know what you're putting into the menu, into the categories & what modifiers & modifier groups are attached to the products.
The menu management system (or Menu Editor) has a hover tool which allows you to view the associations between an item such as a product, and the rest of the menu.
Inactive Product
This Chocolate Shake product has no default modifiers or modifier groups attached. It also does not belong to a category. A menu contains a number of categories, each with a set of products. Therefore, this Chocolate Shake product is not contained in any menu & will not be available online.
Active Product
Like the one above, the Eggs on Toast product also has no default modifiers or modifier groups attached. However, the hover tool clearly shows that it is part of the Breakfast category.
Following on from the Eggs on Toast product above, let's back-track to the Category level.
In the image below, the Breakfast category is a part of the Test menu. Therefore, the Eggs on Toast product will be displayed online.
Remember
Think of the Menu Editor as a chain. If you want to see if a Product or Modifier is available/displaying online, follow the chain backwards from Modifier > Modifier Group > Product > Category > Menu. If the chain is broken at any of these stages, it will most likely not be displayed online.
Live Example
Let's see that in real-time.
- From the Mobi Head Office Dashboard, click MENU from the grey navigational pane
- In Menu locate the category, product, modifier group or modifier that you need to identify as active/non-active
Pro Tip
If the video is blurry when maximised, please click on the cog icon & then click on 720p or 1080p to change the resolution from Auto to 720p/1080p. Give it a few seconds & the video will clear up.
Note
Please ignore the prefixes in the naming of these products. This is a menu imported directly from a POS which assigns a version number to each item automatically.
